774,496. Taximeters. KIENZLE APPARATE GES. April 12, 1955, No. 10485/55. Class 106 (3). [Also in Group XXIV] In change-speed gearing for a taximeter time drive the gear train between a wheel 86 and an escapement-controlled wheel 32 includes two " pickoff " gear pairs 26-27, 28-29 which are held on D-section overhung portions of three spindles by nuts 30 so that the gears are readily removable to change the gear ratio. The three spindles are equally spaced and mounted in parallel bearing plates 24, 25. The wheel 86 is driven by an electro-magnetic clock drive as shown in Specification 774,492 and is geared to a roller clutch on a time and distance shaft so that the time drive can overrun the distance drive.
