[Also in Group XL (c)] A television receiver comprises an enclosing cabinet 12 and a chassis plate 7 arranged in a substantially vertical position at or closely adjacent the open back of the cabinet with the valves and other components 21 which generate a substantial amount of heat carried from the rear surface of the plate so as to project outwardly of the cabinet. Cover 19 protects the projecting components and is provided with apertures 25 in at least its bottom and top surfaces to permit free flow of cooling air. Further ventilation apertures may be provided in the bottom of the cabinet and either the top of the cabinet or the top of the chassis plate. The neck of the cathode-ray tube passes through a hole 8 in the chassis plate and the front end is supported by a sleeve 9 of rubber or other elastic material in a frame 1 secured by struts 6 to the chassis, the arrangement being such that the whole assembly may be withdrawn as a unit from the cabinet by sliding. Where the neck of the cathode-ray tube passes through the chassis, a ring 13 engages the base of the bulb portion and is pressed forwardly to clamp the tube in position as two screw-members 15 are turned. Potentiometers 22 for adjusting the receiver are mounted on the chassis and have control-rods 23 extending to the front of the cabinet where they emerge through apertures in a bezel 11 provided to support a protective window 10 in front of the tube face. The loudspeaker 24 is also carried by the chassis, the bezel having suitable apertures to emit the sound.
