A conveyer of the kind having pusher 15 to transfer a loaf 14 from endless belt 13 to endless belt 16 for conveyance to a slicing-machine has U-shaped means 30 for controlling the movement of each loaf. As shown, means 30 pivots upon pins 39 so as to engage the top of a loaf and to prevent any possibility of its toppling over as the pusher 15 comes up, said means being provided with slots 38 to allow upward movement of said means.
