Abstract

772,923. Collapsible tubes. CARSTENSEN, P. Aug. 15, 1955 [Aug. 17, 1954], No. 23487/55. Class 66. A flexible or collapsible tube 1 having a conical end wall 2 formed with an outwardly projecting neck 3 the bore of which is of uniform cross section, is fitted with a nozzle of resilient material adapted to be pushed through said bore from the inside of the tube, said nozzle having a conical flange 6 for abutting the inner face of the end wall 2, a plug portion 5 for fitting within the neck 3, a flange 7 for engaging the outer end of said neck, a barrel portion 4 projecting outwardly beyond the flange 7, and a bore therethrough which is substantially wider in the plug portion 5 than in the barrel portion 4. The nozzle and a cap 8 may be formed from a thermoplastic resin such as poly-ethylene.
