Abstract
771,644. Buoys. GARLAND, N. July 29, 1955. No. 22027/55. Class 68 (1). A buoy which can move freely about a mooring cable which it supports is provided with a member or members that engage the cable to limit rotation of the buoy therearound when it is subjected to external forces that would cause such rotation. In the preferred construction one or more fins are secured to and extend from the wall of the conical mouth at the lower end of a buoy such as described in the referred to Specification 485,173. The or each fin is a buoyant structure of triangular cross-section and of triangular shape in elevation. The rounded nose of the fin lies approximately in line with the wall of a cylindrical hawse pipe extending through the buoy.
