Abstract
770,056. Transistor gating circuits. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. April 4, 1955 [April 7, 1954], No. 10265/54. Class 40(6) In a transistor gate circuit in which the base potential is maintained higher than the emitter, an input pulse being applied to drive the emitter more positive than the base, means are provided for rendering the input signal ineffective. In the normal condition diodes maintain the emitter near earth potential, the base near plus 2 volts, and the collector near minus 14 volts. The inverse delayed clock pulse and the inverse clock pulse prepare the emitter and base circuit by raising the cathodes of diodes D 2 , D,. If an allow pulse raises the cathode of diode D<SP>1</SP> then the input pulse is fed through to the emitter of transistor T to cause it to conduct and pass to the on state. The inductor L is critically damped and would switch off the transistor but the switching is terminated by the positive edge of the clock pulse. In the absence of an allow pulse any tendency for the emitter to rise is off-set by the inhibit pulse on the base fed in over the cathode of diode D 6 . Even if an allow pulse is present, there is no effect as the inverted delayed clock pulses are shorter than the allow and inhibit pulses. If only the allow or inhibit facilities are required, the corresponding source of inhibit or allow pulses may be omitted. Specification 747,606 is referred to.
