Abstract
769,949. Electromagnetic relays. ERICSSON TELEPHONES, Ltd., and DISTIN, L. S. April 19, 1955, No. 11220/55. Class 38(5) The armature 9 of a miniature relay is pivotally supported by an arcuate torsion spring 16 fixed at one end by a screw 20 to end cheek 11 of the coil 10, a spacer 19 being ionterposed. The other end of the spring is stepped to lie against the armature edge, and an extension 7 bent at right angles to the stepped portion and in a plane parallel to the arcuate portion, overlies the armature and is spot welded thereto. The extension 7 has a shape similar to that of the armature, and an arm 8 projecting from the extension forms a movable contact operating between a pair of fixed contacts 17, 18. The fixed U-shaped iron circuit comprises a core 15 connected at its lower end to an L-shaped yoke 13, the armature being supported against the upper end of the yoke and moving to engage the core when the coil 10 is energized. The relay is mounted within a sealed glass container 1 by a pair of wires 5, 6 welded to the yoke 13.
