Abstract
1418174 Electromagnetic relays TRW Inc 6 March 1973 [6 March 1972] 10802/73 Heading H1N An electromagnetic relay has an armature hinge spring 34 in the form of a conducting strip fixed at one end 36 to the magnetic yoke and core part 12 and having a curved hinge portion 40, a support portion 38 secured to the armature 30, a flexible arm portion 44 and a contact carrying end 42 arranged so that the angle of movement of the armature part 22 is greater than the angle of movement of the contact 46 on the contact end 42 to provide a wiping contact action. The strip 34 may be bent to a U-shape (Fig. 1, not shown) and changeover contacts may be provided (Fig. 4, not shown). The strip 34 may be of ferrous material to bridge the gap 28 in the magnetic circuit.
