Abstract

769,290. Stripping waste from bobbins. FISCHER AKT.-GES., G. May 31, 1955 [May 31, 1954], No. 15672/55. Class 120 (3). A machine for stripping waste from bobbins and provided with radially displaceable stripping tools has the tools mounted so as to be pivotable in a plane parallel to the axis of a bobbin being stripped and has means for bringing the tools into resilient engagement. As the bobbin 4 is introduced by tongs 5, Fig. 1, the stripping tools are held retracted. Six tools may be employed, each comprising a stripping tooth 7 and holder 6 mounted in a slide block 8 by a pivot 6a. The blocks 8 are displaceable in grooves 8a and, when the upward movement of the bobbin 4 begins, the blocks 8 are moved inwards through the action of a cam 23 that rocks a lever 24 to lift a sleeve 20 thereby allowing rods 12 to rise under the influence of springs 16 to turn levers 11 associated with pins 18 on holders 6. A cam 33 co-axial with the cam 23 actuates a lever 35 to reciprocate a sleeve 31 connected through links 29 and pins 18 with holders 6 in order to pivot teeth 7 to follow the configuration of the bobbin 4. Co-axial with cam 33 are other cams suited to the contours of bobbins of different shapes; by means of handle 52 any of the other cams may be brought into operation after disengagement of a cam and follower by pressure on a handle 56. Another form of apparatus, Fig. 5, has stripping teeth 65 carried in housings 63 pivotable to the contours of a bobbin 4 under the influence of a cam 72. The teeth 65 are held against the bobbin 4 by springs 66 until the housings 63 are moved away from the bobbin by projections on a cam 71.
