Abstract

872,829. Copy-milling. HOERN, J, H. Feb. 5, 1959, No. 4156/59. Class 83 (3). A copying machine tool comprises two coaxial cams 41, 61 in a carriage 20, one of which reciprocates the carriage and the other operates a lever 71 to reciprocate a slide 58 mounted on the carriage. The carriage 20 moves on guide-rods 18 as the cam 41 is rotated by worm gearing 28, the cam 41 engaging a roller 39 carried by a yoke 35. The cam 41 is held against the roller by a fluidoperated piston P. A similar device 83 holds the slide 58 against the lever 71 which is rocked by the cam 61. The slide 58 carries a vertically-movable slide 87 on which a rotary tool T is adjustably mounted. The slide is reciprocated by a third coaxial cam 97 through a lever 104, and a follower 98 held against the cam by fluid-pressure means. The workpiece is clamped on a table which is indexable to bring a new workpiece into operative position.
