Abstract

769,224. Dressing-apparatus for thrashing- machines. AKTIEBOLAGET WESTERASMASKINER. Sept. 22, 1954, No. 27426/54. Class 58. The dressing-apparatus of a thrashing- machine, e.g. a combine harvester, comprises a blower for winnowing material being sieved by a sieving unit. The blower comprises two fans 10 and 11, Fig. 2, spaced well apart on a drive shaft 12. Each fan aspirates air axially from each side. The sieving unit comprises two sets of screens 4 and 5, Fig. 1, arranged beside each other and extending to or near the vertical planes through the longitudinal edges of the straw rack 3. A partition 8, preferably with a tapering upper edge extending above the sets of screens, may be provided between them and may form a guide for the inner edges of the screens. Each set of screens may consist of an upper " froth " screen 6 and two " blast " screens 7.
