768,984. Derrick substructures. MOORE CORPORATION, L. C. May 5, 1955 [Nov. 19, 1954], No. 13095/55. Class 78 (4). The legs of an oil well derrick rest on the corners 6 of a square frame which forms part of a substructure and has sides 5 equally spaced from the sides of a square formed by four posts 1 supporting the substructure. Two opposite sides 5 of the frame rest on two side girders 3 spaced from the adjacent posts 1 by one-sixth to onetenth of the distance between the posts and carried by two beams 2 joining the posts 1. The two remaining sides 5 of the frame rest on the ends of the side girders 3 and on the ends of girders 4 laid across the beams 2. Floor joists 8 cross the frame 5 while further joists 9 are interrupted where the girders 4 are joined by members 11 forming a rotary table support. Further cross-members 12 help to form a pipe setback support.
