768,659. Photographic developing apparatus. ENGELHARD INDUSTRIES, Ltd. April 7, 1954, No. 10275/54. Class 98(2) [Also in Group XVIII In developing apparatus having a pair of developer-applicator rollers. which may form part of a combined contact-printing and developing apparatus, means for regulating the level of the solution (see Group XVIII) comprise a cylindrical reservoir pivotally supported in a communicating feed tank and having an outlet tube projecting inwardly and outwardly of the reservoir. Preferably the tube 11 projects. to greater extent inwardly than outwardly and the inner portion is provided with two diametrically opposed pairs of holes 12. The lower roller 3 may be of hard rubber and the upper roller 4 of resilient absorbent material such as sponge rubber capable of absorbing excess liquid from the upper surface of an emerging print. Fingers 15 of plastic to lift the print from the roller 3 and each has a rib 16 to prevent solution from accumulating on the roller 3 and to prevent an uneven application of developer to the leading edge of the print. The cylinder 9 may be mounted eccentrically on shaft 7 and spring arms 13 and 14 clamp the bent end of shaft 7 in either the filling position in which the reservoir 9 is' inverted and the tube 11 directed vertically upwards or the operative position, as shown.
