Abstract

767,575. Spray-producers. MANNING, O. Sept. 27, 1954 [Sept. 29, 1953], No. 27898/54. Class 69 (3). A showerhead is mounted on a spherical coupling 5 and includes a casing 8 about which is rotatably mounted a casing 9 provided with a plate 13 containing liquid outlets 14 which cooperate with valve plugs 15. Each plug has a number of tapered grooves 16 on its periphery, and the plugs are carried in slots in a plate 23 rotatably mounted on a stem 27 supported by a spider 30 on the casing 8. Both the spider and the plate 23 are perforated to allow the flow of liquid to the outlets. The casing 8 has an endless inclined cam groove 38 extending around its periphery, and a cam follower 42 with a roller 43 is carried by the casing 9. With the outer casing in its most forward position, as shown, the plugs close the outlets, and by turning the outer casing in either direction the plate 13 and plugs are turned and the plate moved rearwardly relative to the plugs to open the outlets.
