Abstract

A flux for silver soldering or brazing comprises an alkali metal fluosilicate and boric oxide; preferably potassium fluosilicate is used. An alkali metal hydroxide and/or an alkali metal permanganate or other manganese containing salt may also be included. Specific flux compositions are disclosed.
