Abstract

766,462. Wrapping-machines. ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. May 24. 1955 [May 25, 1954], No. 15320/54. Class 94(1). A machine forms a composite package consisting of an ice-cream block and a batch of wafer biscuits by placing one of the items as a spaced series on a moveable web and folding the web to tubular form, placing the other item on the tube in register with the first item and folding a further web to tubular form round both items. Both tubes are collapsed and sealed between the stacked contents by means as described in Specification 743,978. As shown, batches of wafer biscuits 1 are deposited on a web 3 which is folded round them by folders 6-8. Ice cream blocks 9, formed and supplied from a strip by means as described in Specification 743,978, are deposited on the tube and batches 1, the further web 22 then being folded round by folders similar to 6-8. After sealing, individual packages are cut from the webs.
