Abstract

1,271,214. Packaging machines. EUROSICMA SOC. ITALIANA COSTRUZIONI MACCHINE AUTOMATICHE S.p.L. 19 Jan., 1970 [23 Jan., 1969], No. 2432/70. Heading B8C. In a packaging machine in which a horizontal row of packages 7 containing fluent material is formed from opposed webs 3, 4 by means of sealing rollers 5, a rotary metering device 2, and transverse sealing and cutting rollers 6, the row of packages is, prior to severing from the webs 3, 4, gripped by a suction roller 8 which, after severing, turns the packages through 90 degrees and drops them into containers 30 carried by an intermittently driven conveyer 10. The packages are then delivered to further buckets 30<SP>1</SP> carried on a second intermittentlydriven conveyer 40, the rest time of which is greater than the shift stage of the first conveyer 10. Alternatively, the first conveyer 10 carries cartons in which the packages are to be packed.
