Abstract
766,234. Ventilating. FLYNN, E. E. March 22, 1955, No. 8265/55. Class 137 [Also in Group XIII] Ventilating apparatus comprises a housing 10 with an open top across which a screen 17 and filter 16 extend. A pair of radiators 20 are supported vertically above a centrally-apertured platform 18 and are connected via a thermostatically-controlled electrically-operated pump, to a hot or cold water supply. Beneaeth the platform is a shelf 48, also centrally-apertured, and a fan 49 driven by an electric motor 56 controlled by the thermostat is housed in the compartment between the shelf and platform. Air is drawn by the fan through the filter and between the ribs of the radiators and it then passes, through the aperture in the shelf, e.g. into passages in the floor of the building. A plate 46 between the radiators prevents the air from passing otherwise than between the ribs of the radiator. The whole apparatus can function in an inverted position and in this case the inverted apparatus is stood on a framework 67 as in Fig. 6.
