Abstract
765,546. Inductors. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. March 10, 1955 [March 10, 1954], No. 7060/55. Class 38 (2). An inductance coil arrangement having its self-capacity determined by one or more dielectric bodies 4 arranged in the electric field of the coil 1, the bodies serving to give a desired temperature coefficient of the impedance of the coil is characterized in that the dielectric bodies 4 are independent of the supporting means for the coil and do not affect the geometric dimension of the coil. The coil 1 is supported on a base by means of terminals 2, 3 and the temperature coefficient of the bodies 4 may be equal and opposite to the temperature coefficient of the coil such that the resonant frequency of the coil remains constant; alternatively the respective coefficients may be chosen such that the resonant frequency may have any desired characteristic. In another embodiment the coil may be contained in a pot-like iron cone and surrounded by a powdery dielectric material having lacquer at a similar material used as a binder. With such constructions the temperature characteristic may be varied after manufacture.
