Class 75(3) In pyrophoric lighter in which the flint spring is supported at the remote end by a casing part movably connected to the lighter body the arrangement is such that the casing part is pivotally mounted on the friction wheel shaft and the flint spring extends at one end in a flint tube fixed to the lighter body and at the other end projects outside the tube where it is longitudinally guided by a movably mounted guide member and is supported through the intermediary of the guide member on the movable casing part. The flint spring 10 is contained in a tube 11 to press a flint 9 against a friction wheel 7 mounted on a shaft 6 carried by lugs 3 extending from the lighter body 1 and at its remote end is mounted on a tongue 15 bent over from a flange 13 forming part of a slide 14. The slide 14 is mounted in a guideway formed by inwardly turned edges 16 of lugs 5 extending from the lighter body 1. The slide 14 is moved by the spring 10 to the position shown in Fig. 2 by pivoting a member 24 outwardly about the' shaft 6 to disengage the apertured end 25 of the member 24 from the flange 13. A resilient tongue 17 extending from a transverse wall 18 which is rigidly attached to the lugs 5 by lugs 19 which is apertured to hold the tube 11, engages the upper edge of a slot 29 cut in the slide 14 to prevent complete removal of the slide 14. The tongue 17 is apertured at 28 and carries a spare flint 31 which can be removed through the aperture 29 in the slide 14. The slide is outwardly-bulged at 30 to accommodate the spare flint 31. The tube 11 held in position by lugs 4 extending from the lighter body 1 is apertured at 12 at its upper end to facilitate insertion of a new flint 9. The snuffer cap 8 is held in the open or closed position by an arm 23 upwardly biased by a spring 11 mounted around the tube 11 and engaging the transverse wall 18 at.its lower end. The fuel container 2 is removaly mounted in the lighter body 1.
