Abstract

764,902. Colour television tubes. CHROMATIC TELEVISION LABORATORIES, Inc. Jan. 13, 1955 [Jan. 14, 1954], No. 1098/55. Class 39(1). The wires 38 of a colour control grid are strung across a phosphor screen between the teeth 36 of a frame 34 located on the back of the glass plate 26 of the screen, the teeth and exposed parts of the frame being coated with insulating material 44 e.g. enamel or ceramic. There may be one or two grids. Grooved insulating bodies 40 space the grid from the screen and are movable to tension the wires and hold the frame firmly to the glass plate. There may be grooves in the ends of plate 26 and the wires may be cemented thereto and to the teeth 36. The wires are of stainless steel and the frame of aluminium or stainless steel.
