Abstract

764,393. Joints for metal structures. WAGON REPAIRS, Ltd. Dec. 30, 1952, No. 25777/54. Divided out of 764,391. Class 20(2) A triangular connecting plate B for structural members has holes B<SP>1</SP>-B<SP>3</SP> at the corners of a right angle triangle the bolt holes B', B<SP>2</SP> at the acute angles being square with sides parallel to the shorter sides of the triangle. The plate B is adapted to connect strips C, D of right angle section having rows of slots D' by means of bolts E<SP>1</SP>. The bolts in the holes on the shorter sides of the triangle engage consecutive slots in the strips. The plate is sandwiched between the strips and the bolts have square shoulders under the heads adapted to fit the slots and the square holes to facilitate tightening of the nuts. The hypotenuse of the triangle may be strengthened by a bent over flange B<SP>4</SP> on a pressed out rib. Specification 764,392 is referred to.
