Abstract

762,806. Condensing arrangements for carding engines. SPINNBAU GES. June 14, 1954 [June 16, 1953], No. 17367/54. Class 120 (1). A tape condenser located at a lower level than its associated carding machine and fed by a conveyer has a middle frame carrying the dividing device and tapes, and two side frames carrying the rubbing and winding devices. The dividing devices 4 are carried in the upper part of the middle frame A, which also carries tape return rollers 6 and tension rollers 7. An end member of the frame A is apertured so that attendants may enter the frame. The reciprocating aprons 9, their driving means and winding devices 10 are carried on side frames B, C, which may be mounted on rollers or rack rails for movement away from the frame A. Drive to the condenser may be by an underfloor driving shaft from the carding engine or by a motor running in synchronism with the carding engine. The conveyer carrying the web from the carding engine to the condenser is formed in two hinged sections provided with a transparent hood.
