Abstract

792,669. Carding engines. FRASER & SONS, Ltd., D. Jan. 27, 1956 [Feb. 3, 1955], No. 3242/55. Class 120(1) [Also in Group XXIV] A textile carding machine is provided with a sliding door or guard 6 covering a gap 5 between the lower part of a framework 3 at the rear of the machine spacing the side frames 1, 2 and the floor for allowing access to moving parts of the machine. This door is interlocked with a switch 13 in the machine starting circuit so that the machine cannot be started whilst the door is open (see Group XXVI). A fixed door or guard 14 may be provided to cover part of the gap 5.
