762,725. Pneumatic tyres. GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO. Oct. 26, 1964 [Jan. 4, 1954], No. 30833/54. Class 144 (2). A heavy-duty tractor-type tyre having separate generally transverse traction lugs 5 of substantial circumferential width and radial depth has its under-tread portion 4 radially thickened at each tyre shoulder by a circumferential rib-portion 6 to reduce the flexing of the undertread 4 and consequent damage of the carcase 2 and sidewalls. As shown, the undertread 4 tapers, on each side of the tyre, from a maximum thickness at the extreme lateral edges to about half such thickness at its centre portion.
