Abstract

762,532. Measuring small movements. FIELDEN ELECTRONICS, Ltd. April 7, 1955 [May 31, 1954], No. 16025/54. Class 40 (1). In a system for measuring small movements, one plate b of a capacitive transducer is acted on by the movements and the other a is driven by an electrical instrument in the anode circuit of an oscillator V1. The capacitance of the transducer determines the amplitude of the oscillations generated and so the value of the anode current. Any movement of b is followed by a movement in the same direction of a to a new equilibrium position. The system is self-compensating for variations in supply voltage and valve characteristics. The anode current may include a distant meter.
