Abstract
761,835. Cleaning used containers. BRAUNSCHWEIGISCHE MASCHINENBAUANSTALT AKT.-GES. Nov. 4, 1954 [Dec. 23, 1953], No. 31886/54. Class 21. A process for removing the residues of containers 2, as used for oils, fats and chemicals, comprises subjecting the residue to treatment with steam or an inert gas such as air or nitrogen in a hot or cold condition, and sucking off said treated residue from the container by means of a washing tube 3 one end of which opens out into the lowermost part of the container. The container 2 may be steam heated to a temperature at which the residues are most easily drawn off. The drawn off residue passes through an extension 5 to a tip funnel 9 and thence through an outlet funnel 13 to a tank. The funnel 13 may be treated internally with steam or a hot or cold inert gas whilst the exterior thereof is simultaneously cooled. Specification 702,611 is referred to.
