Abstract
761,354. Fertilizer distributers. ALLMAN & CO., Ltd., E., and REDSHAW, H. S. April 15, 1954 [April 23, 1953], No. 11145/53. Class 6(1). A fertilizer distributer for mounting in front of a tractor comprises a hopper 7 divided into compartments by sloping walls 27, each compartment being provided with a star-wheel 24 which feeds fertilizer through an adjustable opening 30 to a delivery tube comprising a cranked tube 35 adjustably mounted on a pipe 34. The tube 35 is provided with a horizontal slot 37 and is held in position by a screw 38. The opening 30 is adjusted by means of a plate 31 secured by a bolt 133 and mounted on a shelf 28 secured to the hopper by a bolt 29. Each star-wheel 24 is provided with a stem and a driving pin and is inserted in a sleeve 22 provided on a bevel gear 19, the driving pin abutting against lugs on the inside hub of the gear 19. The bevel gears 19 are driven from landwheels 8 by means of bevel gears 18 mounted on a shaft 16 which is driven by chain and sprocket gearing 13, 14, 15 from the shaft 11 of the landwheels 8. The hopper 7 is provided with frames 39, 41 which are pivoted to lugs 3 attached to the tractor front axle 2. Stirrups 44 fixed on the frames 39, 41 are pivoted to slotted arms 4 connected to the tractor hydraulic lift mechanism so that the machine may be raised clear of the ground. The lifting link connection may be as described in Specification 761,394, [Group XXXI].
