Abstract

In a process for the selective extraction of hydrocarbon oils with liquid sulphur dioxide and a saturated hydrocarbon containing 2-4 carbon atoms, the solvents are recovered from the raffinate and extract solutions by distillation cooling the solvent distillate to -20 to -30 DEG C., and separating the layers from one another. Hydrocarbons referred to are propane and butane.
