Abstract

759,945. Rotary sprayers. ZAVALLONI, B., and VALDUCCI, F. May 27, 1955 [March 5, 1954], No. 6563/54. Class 69 (3). A barrel 3 fed with liquid at one end is rotated or oscillated about a centre adjacent that end by means of a drive transmitted by a turbine wheel 1 mounted adjacent the barrel outlet 2 and struck by the liquid jet 4 issuing from that outlet. The wheel axis is transverse the liquid jet and each turbine blade 1b has a lipped side edge 1c which cuts only a small portion of the jet so that the main portion is uninterrupted. The wheel is carried by a stub shaft 10 extending into a gear casing 7 from which extends a main drive-shaft 5. The end of the shaft 5 remote from the casing 7 is in driving connection with means for rotating or oscillating the barrel. A guard 12 is provided. Specification 684,275 is referred to.
