Abstract

759,880. Apparatus for making baked dough bars. BATTAGINO, F. G. June 18, 1954, No. 18034/54. Class 28(1). [Also in Groups V, XII and XXX] Bread bars such as " grissini " are made by extruding dough, in the form of endless bars, an to a conveyer which carries them into a proving chamber, drawing them and placing them on a conveyer which cuts them into lengths and carries them through the baking oven. Dough is extruded (see Group V) to form bars C which are carried on a conveyer belt 6 to and through a proving chamber 8 and then round rollers 9, 10, 11 rotating at successively higherspeeds so as to extend the dough bars. A roller 7 which carries one end of belt 6 is vibrated vertically to assist the drawing. The bars C are then deposited on the trays 18 of an oven conveyer, cut into lengths by tray edges 19, carried through the baking oven and discharged from the trays as they tilt round wheels 15.
