Abstract
758,226. Pylon supports for elevated rail tracks. ALWEG-FORSCHUNG-GES. July 29, 1954 [Aug. 1, 1953], No. 22143/54. Classes 20(1) and 107. [Also in Group XXX] Railway &c. beams 17 freely supported on the upper surface 14 of pylons 11 by bearing plates 18 and levelling wedges 15 are held in horizontal alignment by having digitated ends 20 fitting into corresponding slots in supporting frames 20,- 21. spaced apart by a subsequent filling of concrete. Clearance between the beam end and the frame 21 is filled with a yielding material such as bitumen to allow for expansion. The spacing between the frames 21 and 22 is variable to take up slight differences in the length of the beams. The space filled in with concrete is first provided with reinforcement 23 anchoring the top structure to the pylon, and the top structure forms a continuation of the beams.
