Abstract
756,528. Furnace walls. SULZER FRERES, SOC. ANON. Oct. 7, 1954 [Oct. 15, 1953], No. 28967/54. Class 51(1). In a forced flow, once through steam generator the generator furnace walls are constituted by closely-spaced heater tubes 4 for the working medium, the tubes being arranged in groups and in each group, being connected in parallel between collectors 3 arranged end-to-end in two rows 1, 2, the outlet ends of the tubes in one group being connected to the same collector as the inlet ends of the tubes of the following group so that the groups are connected in series through the collectors. As shown in Fig. 2, the collectors may each be formed of a single pipe having internal partitions 5 and may be arranged close together, the tubes 4, being bent into hairpin form. In a further modification, the return bends of the tubes in each group are connected by an intermediate collector.
