756,038. Batch mixing-machines. PARKER, Ltd., F., and PARKER, F. W. Feb. 19, 1954 [March 10, 1953], No. 6590/53. Class 86. [Also in Groups X and XIII] In a plant for mixing and drying materials such as sand, gravel or broken stone (Groups X, XIII), the mixer comprises an opentopped container 61 housing a pair of parallel shafts 62, 63 each carrying radial blades 64 with beater tips 65, shaft 62 being operated by a chain drive 66 and transmitting drive to shaft 63 by gear wheels 67. Material is poured from a batching device 50 into the upper end of the mixing chamber which has a protective grid 68, and a bitumen bucket 69 can be tipped by a handle 70. Hollow jackets 71 receive hot air through ducting 72, 78 to keep the mixture warm. The mixture is discharged through a door 74 operable by a handle through linkage 75.
