Abstract

754,785. Winding yarn. REINERS, W. June 30, 1954 [Aug. 14, 1953], No. 19240/54. Class 120 (2). Apparatus for holding ready the ends of the threads from a magazine 7 of wound bobbins 8, for use in automatic winding machines, includes pneumatic means, e.g. suction nozzles 9, 9a, for creating an air draft to hold the ends of the threads from groups of bobbins 8 in such nozzles &c., and means for severing the threads, e.g. shears (not shown) adjacent the nozzles, so that after each bobbin has been fed to the winding-off position 1, and the end has been gripped and taken to the knotter for attachment to the thread-end in the package 6, the threads are operated and the ends in the nozzles carried away. In the modification of Fig. 2, the thread ends held in a single nozzle 12 are severed at each supply bobbin-change by means of a linkage 14, 15 attached to shears operating in the nozzle itself.
