Abstract

1,065,632. Winding bobbins. W. REINERS. April 3, 1964 [April 5, 1963], No. 13841/64. Headings D1D, D1F and D1J. Spinning packages are prepared for unwinding by the thread end being introduced into the bore of the bobbin tube and then at the winding station being pneumatically removed ready for the knotting operation. As shown in Fig. 1 wound packages, which have a transfer tail at the foot of the package, are fed on to rolls 61, 62. The tail is pneumatically removed through pipe 218, Fig. 4 and as pipe 218 then pivots away from the tube the thread is severed. As the tube is rotated by the rolls the back turn is sucked into nozzle 160 till the bobbin tip is reached, A leaver 207 then pivots to pull the thread across shears 210 while spike 205 contacts the package to prevent further unwinding. Pipe 218 pivots back on to the end of the tube to cause the thread end to be sucked into the other end of the tube. The package is then deposited onto an empty trough on chain 7. As troughs 37 Fig. 2, pass a winding station, they pivot a lever 43 which if trough 25 is empty causes rod 42 to move to the right so that ring 47 releases flap 39 and the package falls into trough 25. When ejector 21 moves an empty tube from peg 19 onto belt 22 a suction tube 30 moves over the end of package K' in trough 25 to withdraw the thread end. Peg 19 then moves clockwise to receive package K', and as it moves back anticlockwise, a transfer lever 20 also moves anticlockwise taking the yarn into the region of thread seeker 16. Instead of having a transfer tail at the base of the bobbin, there may just be a return winding.
