Abstract

754,285. Roller bearings. FISCHER BEARINGS CO., Ltd. May 4, 1955 [July 14, 1954], No. 20512/54. Class 12 (1). [Also in Group XVIII] In a self-winding mechanism for a watch the oscillating weight 1, Fig. 1, is removably secured by a nut 7 to a pivot pin 3 carrying a pinion 4 which actuates the winding train. Press-fitted on the pin 3 is the inner ring 15 of a roller bearing 8 the outer rings 10, 11 of which are carried by a flanged sleeved member 13 mounted in an aperture 14 in a bridge 9. The axes of alternate rollers 16 are inclined in one direction with respect to the bearing axis and the axes of the intermediate rollers are inclined in the opposite direction. In a modification, Fig. 2, the inner race member comprises two rings 25, 26 pressed on to a sleeve 27 pressed on to the pivot pin 3. A shoulder 28 of the sleeve 27 forms an abutment for the ring 25 and the sleeve is peened over at 29 to retain the rings 25, 26 in place. The outer race member 30 is a press fit in an aperture 32 in the bridge 9. As shown, each roller has a convex face 21 which engages the opposed raceway to take end thrust.
