754,135. Wheeled collapsible containers. BARTELS, K. H., [trading as BARTELS, K. H., [Firm of]]. Jan. 25, 1954 [Jan. 26, 1953; Aug. 18, 1953], No. 2201/54. Class 108 (1). [Also in Group XXXI] A wheeled collapsible container comprises a wooden base bound by a frame h, Fig. 3, a lid, and side walls 1-4, Fig. 11, hinged along their bottom edges so that they may be folded to rest on the bottom of the container in four layers. Hinge pins may pass through the angle irons i of the base h into staples on the bottom edges of the sides, or corner blocks r, Fig. 12, with vertical and horizontal slots may be provided to accommodate pins integral with the sides. One or both of the sides 3, 4 may also be hinged in the middle of its height, and the sides are held together in the erected position by U-bolts the limbs of which are dropped into recesses in adjacent sides. The lid has an angle iron frame and fits over the erected sides, and is provided with two studs which fit into recesses in a side so that when a clasp on the lid is closed the lid cannot be raised. In the container collapsed position the lid is fixed over the folded down walls and base. Several containers, when collapsed, may be stacked top to base as in Fig. 10, the stack being stabilised by pivoted rest bars (see Group XXXI).
