Abstract
753,896. Discharging static electricity. DYNAMIT AKT.-GES. VORM. A. NOBEL & CO. April 7, 1954 [Oct. 30, 1953], No. 10217/54. Class 35. [Also in Groups V, XXVIII and XXXVI] A rigid tube having a smooth bore and made of hard polyvinyl chloride incorporates electricallyconductive material for earthing electrostatic charges arising on the passage of grain or flour therethrough. One or more strips of metallic foil may be stuck to the external surface of and parallel to the axis of the tube, or spirally. Alternatively, (a) metallic strands or wires 12, Fig. 3, are received in grooves or channels provided in the internal or external surface of the tube and secured by welding or sticking, the strands being flush with the surface of the tube, (b) the strands or wires, or a network thereof, are pressed in a hot state into the surface of the tube, (c) metallic powder is applied by the use of a lacquer over the entire surface of the tube or a part thereof, or in strip form parallel to the axis of the tube or spirally, (d) a metallic layer is deposited on the surface of the tube or a part thereof, in the form of strips parallel to the axis of the tube, or spirally by spraying or electron deposition, and (e) a metallic powder, such as aluminium or bronze, and/or graphite is incorporated in the tube as the latter is extruded; also, extruded tubes having metallic powder deposited on the outer surface thereof may include embedded metallic wires, strands, foils or strips.
