Abstract

753,605. Direct connections between conductors ; supports for circuit components. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Jan. 7, 1955 [Jan. 13, 1954], No. 1006/54. Class 38 (1). The wire terminal 4 of a component 3 is connected to a terminal post 2 by placing the wire in parallel contact with the post and wrapping a separate piece of wire 5 round the two terminal members. The wire 4 may be hooked over the top of the post (Fig. 3, not shown), and the latter may be in the form of a loop. Fig. 5 shows a U-shaped strip 2 with the limbs looped and passed through a base plate 1 to form binding posts on both sides of the plate. The loops could pass through the plate. According to the Provisional Specification an assembly of components may interconnect horizontal and vertical conductors, Fig. 7 (not shown), the conductors being looped at intervals to provide binding posts and one set of conductors being placed above a base plate and the other below. Each of the conductors may, alternatively, comprise a series of U- shaped links. The mounting plate can be drilled with a pattern of holes through which the conductors are passed and the plate may be suitably marked to indicate where the conductors are to be fitted. Specification 674,709 is referred to.
