Abstract

753,375. Switchgear structures. MOSERGLASER & CO. AKT.-GES., and REYROLLE & CO., Ltd., A. March 5, 1954 [March 6, 1953], No. 6540/54. Class 38(5) Metal-clad, high-voltage switch gear has all the individual pieces of equipment embedded in synthetic resin and connected with one another plugwise, the joints between them being filled with high dielectric strength fluid or solid insulation. The equipment may be arranged in line between the cable and bushes, Fig. 7, or in 'U-form, Fig. 8 (not shown) and mounted horizontally on wheels for assembly and disassembly, or on a common screw spindle on a vertical carrier. Various kinds of joints are described (Figs. 1-5, not shown), but in Fig. 6 a joint between two bodies of resin 2, 3 is rotatable by gearing 11 ... 14 so as to cause the conductor 10 to translate, a flange 15 maintaining fluid-tightness. In Fig. 7 II and VI denote coupling members. III are isolators, IV a potential and current transformer unit, and V a circuit-breaker which may be oil-immersed, or oil-blast but as shown is air-blast, the air being admitted at 26 to drive back the movable contact 39 and then slowly escaping through a valved channel 17 having voltage-grading condensers. Each isolator comprises spherical bus end electrodes 18, 19 to which access is had by way of removable auxiliary resin bodies 21, 23, and a movable conductor 32 in an oil or air-filled channel, movable into and out of engagement with electrode 19 by an electromagnet or servomotor 20 supplied from a transformer. A channel 16 allows air to be supplied, or an earth rod to be inserted when the isolator is open. Fig. 10 shows a switch modified for duplicate bus-bar selection, the conductor 48 being movable by means of a servomotor to engage either of the busbar electrodes 27, 28 with the live electrode 29. Fig. 12 shows an isolator comprising, a conductor 52 interconnecting, the buses 50, 51, and embodying also a current transformer 60 and potential transformer 57, the resinous bodies of the fixed and movable parts being shown at 53, 54, respectively.
