[Also in Group XX] A clip (Fig. 13) for hanging film strips during processing, comprises a one-piece U-shaped metal strip, the limbs 1, 2, of which, terminate respectively in a tongue part 12 and a recessed part 6, the parts 12, 6, being diverted from their respective limbs in crossing relation, with the part 12 guided in the recess of the part 6, and the parts 12, 6, having mating teeth formed on jaws 7, 13, extending perpendicularly to the respective parts. The hanger is made from a flat stamped-out blank (Fig. 2, not shown), and flanges are turned up at right-angles to form the jaws 7, 13 (Fig. 3, not shown). The parts 12, 6, are then bent in the same direction, to an angle of 45 degrees to the plane of the blank (Fig. 4). The latter is then bent into U-shaped form, the tongue 12 being sprung between the sides of the recessed part 6. The clip shown in Fig. 13 has a lead weight 81 held by two tongues 78, 79 struck up from the blank. The tongues engage a recess 80 in the weight 81, and the latter may act to limit or offer resistance to deflection of the limbs 1, 2. Holes 76, 77, left by the tongues 78, 79, serve for the insertion of a hanger rod, although separate holes 28 (Fig. 4) may be provided for this purpose. There may be a plurality of tongues 12 and associated recesses 6 formed on the same clip (Figs. 10-12, not shown). In operation, the film is held between the teeth on the jaws 7, 13, which are urged into engagement by spring pressure from the limbs 1, 2. The axis of intersection between the parts 12, 6, serves to limit the degree of penetration of the film between the jaws.
