[Also in Group XXX] A screw mixing conveyer comprises a trough 1 having an inlet 5 and an outlet 7 and a rotary shaft 2 mounted therein which carries a helically-wound plate 3 and a similarly wound ribbon 4, the plate and ribbon conveying in opposite directions. The conveyers 3, 4 may be secured together at their points of contact or the ribbon 4 may be supported by radial arms secured to the shaft 2. The ribbon 4 may be supported independently of the shaft 2, in which case it may be driven at a speed different from that of the conveyer 3. One or more additional inlets 6 may be provided.
