752,824. Printing- machines. SCHNELLPRESSENFABRIK AKT.-GES. HEIDELBERG. March 16, 1954 (March 19, 1953], No. 7625/54. Class 100 (2). In a combined rotary and singlerevolution cylinder printing-press, the rotary forme cylinder 12 is located ahead of the flat forme 3 in the direction of rotation of the impression cylinder 4, and the sheet feeder 6, 10 is spaced from the cylinder 12 by an amount substantially equal to the sheet length of the impression segment 20 so that the latter may be fully exposed for registration purposes; in order that the inking mechanisms 13, 21 associated with the respective formes may be cleaned simultaneously with a single cleaning device, they may be temporarily connected by a roller 26. In the highspeed press shown, sheets are fed from a stack 5, and after printing are delivered by a chain delivery mechanism 7, 8 to a stack 9; the type bed is reciprocated, and the cylinders 4, 12 and mechanisms 6, 10 and 7, 8 are driven, from a main shaft 11. During cleaning of the inking mechanisms the roller 26, permanently in contact with the forme roller 17 of the mechanism 13, is swung into contact with the ductor roller 23 of the mechanism 21, a stripper 28 with drip tray 27 is swung on rocker arms 29 into contact with the drum 24 of the mechanism 21, and cleansing agent is applied by a single supply device to the doctor roller 15 of the mechanism 13.
