751,927. Earth-excavating apparatus. UNITED ELECTRIC COAL COS. Sept. 1, 1954, No. 25425/54. Class 68(1) [Also in Group XXX] In an earth-excavating machine having a digging bucket carrying wheel 11 rotatably mounted at the end of a boom, there is vertically disposed beneath the uppermost bucket and secured to the boom an inclined sheet 28 for directing material falling from the bucket outwardly of the wheel on to a conveyer 19 disposed alongside the wheel, and at least one rotatable scraper blade 38 is provided to scrape adhering material from the top surface of the sheet. The shaft 39 of each blade passes downwards through the sheet and is connected to a motor 42 disposed in the space between the sheet and the framework of the wheel.
