Abstract
750,058. Generating combustion products under pressure. SOC. NATIONALE D'ETUDE ET DE CONSTRUCTION DE MOTEURS D'AVIATION. April 23, 1954 [May 21, 1953], No. 11841/54. Class 51(1). [Also in Group XXVI] A combustion chamber of the pulsatory type having an aerodynamic inlet valve has means to collect the leakage back flow through the valve and lead it to a turbine. A pulsatory combustion chamber 1 having an aerodynamic inlet valve 3 in the form of a venturi as described in Specification 731,798, [Group XXVI] has a conduit 4 mounted coaxially with the valve 3 to collect the back flow and lead it to a turbine 6. The conduit 4 is spaced away from the valve 3 to allow combustion air to be sucked into the valve 3 and has a divergent inlet to enable air drawn in between the successive jets from the valve 3 to be forced in the conduit in the direction of the arrows f in the manner described in Specification 711,281 with respect to a discharge nozzle. A number of combustion chambers may be arranged to feed a single turbine. The combustion chamber may be arranged to feed a turbine, heat a boiler, or to supply a jet propulsion unit. Specification 660,144, [Group XXIX], also is referred to.
