Abstract
750,030. Sealing metal to glass. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Dec. 22, 1954 [Jan. 1, 1954], No. 9/54. Class 56 Metal members 3, for example rods sumpporting a frame and electrode in a television pick-up tube, are secured to glass 1 by being formed with an enlarged head which is secured in a recess 6 by cement 9. Projections 7 on the enlarged head provide an increased keying surface. The enlarged head may be formed in the material of the rod itself or it may be formed from a glass bead sealed to the rod. The cement may comprise abrasive alumina and potassium silicate.
