Abstract

749,481. Animal traps. PEARCY, P. J. B. Jan. 26, 1955 [Oct. 26, 1953], No. 29535/53. Class 6 (1). An animal trap comprises two arms 10 and 11 pivotally carried by the limb 7 fixed to the spring member 6, the lower ends 16 of the two arms being curved and constrained to move in brackets 15 so that the arms close when the spring operates and open when the spring is depressed. The arm 10 has a projecting member 17 to engage the catch 4 associated with the tread-plate 3. In the set position, the arms are level with the tread-plate but when the trap is released the arms are moved laterally to their direction of closing by the spring member 6 so that they close above the tread-plate. In a modification, the lower ends of the arms are constrained by links attached to the base member 1. Specification 496,687 is referred to.
