Abstract
779,599. Vermin traps. SELFSET, Ltd. March 22, 1956, No. 9018/56. Class 5(1). A vermin trap of the kind having a jaw pivotally mounted on a base and spring- biased towards its released position, comprises a catch member 29 and a catch holding arm 27 also pivotally mounted on the base, the catch member being channel shaped and having the centre portion of the base of the channel cut away to leave upper and lower transverse bars 31 and 32, and also being formed with slots 33 through which pass the ends of the catch holding arm 27. As the jaw 14 is brought into its rearward set position, it engages under the transverse bar 31 of the catch member 29 and, as it is released, it exerts an upward pressure on the bar 31 thus lifting the member 29. and bringing the transverse bar 32 in contact with the catch holding arm 27. The arm 27 is thereby lifted and brought into engagement with a projecting finger 22 of a combined bait holding and trigger device 16, the weight of the said device being so distributed that, as viewed in Fig. 4, it tends to move in an anticlockwise direction.
