Abstract
749,436. Rotating wing aircraft. ORAZI, P. May 23, 1952 [May 24, 1951], No. 13175/52. Class 4. An aircraft comprises a fuselage and substantially plane wings mounted on opposite sides of said fuselage for rotation about spanwise axes, said wings having at least one operative configuration wherein said axes are disposed with respect to each other at an angle of less than 180 degrees. In the embodiment shown the wings b are mounted on shafts c<SP>1</SP> mounted at dihedral angles on the fuselage R, the shafts being connected by a universal joint K. In conjunction with or alternative to the provision of dihedral angles, the wings may be arranged in swept-back positions. A differential gear may be used to connect the shafts instead of the joint K whereby a control effect may be achieved by differential rotation of the wings.
